  1. I thought this book had a lot of good information. From a veteran teacher standpoint, it is good to be reminded of things--whether you do them well or not. And knowing that our district gets a revolving door sometimes with staff, it would be beneficial to have our teachers hear this type of inservice instead of some of the other stuff we do.

I really liked this one! It was so clear and well-organized. There was no extra fluff. This book got straight to the point and felt like it was written for teachers who have no extra time. I love that. We are so busy. We WANT to do better and always learn more. But there is so little extra time. So finding a book that feels accessible and doesn't feel preachy? WONDERFUL. Loved it. I think it's practical and awesome. I also think its a good reminder for veterans but it might be soooo foundational for new teachers just getting their feet on the ground with interacting with students and parents. I am 100% going to recommend this to teachers and admins!

  7. While I don't intend to ever be an administrator, I thought these inservice ideas where very beneficial and provided a lot for us to think about as educators. These are practices that we can easily implement into our teaching and they don't take a lot of time at all. I really enjoyed this book study and will recommend it to my colleagues for sure.

  8. I liked this course, the book was easy to read and relate to. It had short sections which allowed me to realize many of these things are easy to implement on my own. I would recommend this book to new and veteran teachers. There are many ideas that seem like common sense that we just gloss over, not realizing how big of an impact they could have.

I really like this course, especially the textbooks. First, it was a quick read and organized well. I feel like in-services provided in this book would be a good fit for any school. The information is practical and a benefit for all to process through. Second, I like that it provided real classroom ideas. I feel like I can implement some of the strategies in my classroom this upcoming week, which will have a positive impact on my students. I also like that it highlighted teachers learning from other teachers. I have already learned so much from teacher that I have worked with over the years. It is important to tap into the experience and knowledge of other teachers, as there is a wealth of knowledge inside the wall of every school. I also liked that the course is self paced. There are time when I am busy and other times that I do not have much to do. I love being able to fit the reading and course work (Quizzes, blogs, TED talks, etc.) into the times that I have available. For example, I was a dog sitter this weekend, which provided me a lot of time for reading and completing work! This was an excellent course and will recommend it to others. Thank you!

  11. I really enjoyed this course/book. I read it over the weekend while I was on the road. I'm not much of a reader but found it a fun, easy read! I liked this questions and the implementation the TED talks as part of the course. I also really like that the book gives great ideas for the classroom. The course itself asks good questions in the posts that makes us think about how we already do or how we can implement them into our rooms. The course also does a good job of making us teachers be honest with ourselves and how we handle our rooms! It makes us evaluate ourselves and gives us great ideas but also allows us immediate feedback that we can give ourselves! Great course!
